Talk

Of course everyone wants to find a native speaker for language exchange.

Most likely, it will be hard to find such partner (teacher  for free), because there are more people trying to learn English than there is English-speaking people trying to learn other languages - especially not a major language like Spanish, French, Russian or Chinese.

But don't give up. Because your goal is NOT to learn from a native speaker, but to learn  understand English and speak enough so other can understand you. Language exchange with native speaker is a good way to do it, but not the only way.

If you learn good pronunciation and vocabulary as I explained on previous posts, you can learn English without ever talking to native speaker. I know, because I was learning by this system for few years, without any chance to talk to a native. I was able to read anything and understand CNN TV when I had first time such chance meeting with "real American". Guy said my English is good enough and I should not worry. So I decided not to worry. You should not worry too.

Of course it is more fun to have "learning buddy" who also learns English like you do (does not have to be native speaker). You can motivate each other, go for walks or other activities together, and try to talk in English, and even compete who learns more. English you use does not have to be perfect - important is the effort.

One "buddy" who is always around is - you. Talk to yourself and read aloud.

Why reading and not talking with native speaker? Because you can read any time you have some free time, while to talk with native speaker, BOTH of you have to be available at the same time (and such learning session needs to be planned and arranged ahead of time). Of course, if you can find a native speaker to talk to, for sure make the most from such opportunity.

There is also a chatbot program eviebot with which you can chat or talk anytime.

Find other English learners in your city, and start "English learning club". Start with your friends. Find them on meetup.com, on MyLanguageExchange.com, or any other local way you can imagine. Be creative. You know your city and your country. If you have hard time, email me and I will contact other MyLanguageExchange users in your area for you. As I said I want to help you.

Another source of English speakers for you can be couchsurfing.com. (explained in simple English) You can invite to your house foreigners (to spend a night or few on your spare bed or inflatable mattress, for free) and they will spend few hours talking to you in best English they can. There even might be a group of people in your city doing it now, so you can talk to them how it works for them. You can even just meet with travelers in your city and show them around your city (and talk English) without providing sleeping place, if you cannot or are not comfortable to provide the place to sleep right now.

I plan on going couchsurfing soon. So if you want me to come over, so you can show me your city, we can talk in English and do some hikes in your area - let me know if you are interested.
